"I'm really pleased with how "Silently Hoping" turned out." states Kelly Moore. "Every recording really takes on it's own character and identity near the finish point, and it's incredible to watch the 'birth' of a new one. I really like this one. Different, yet many similarities to my other two."
In December of 2006, Kelly Moore founded Music For Mankind, a series of benefit concerts where proceeds are contributed to the Friends of the World Food Program, as well as other national, regional and local charities. Kelly h made numerious appearances on WCAX's Across the Fence, been on air at Vermont Public Radio, and has appeared in numerous newpaper articles. Currently his first documentary has been airing on the Starfish channel on Dish Network. Since its inception, Music For Mankind has contributed enough donations to feed over 31,000 people.
In 2007, Kelly Moore created the Music For Mankind Charity Food Drive in Manchester and surrounding towns to help the local food cupboards. The demand created from his efforts eventually led to school food drives with various schools in Southern Vermont.
In 2008, Kelly was given the title Community Delgate of the Friends of the World Food Program by Vice President of Outreach and alumnae of Bennington College, Margot Hoerrner. This title bestowed on him eventally led to various duties such as attending a Washington D.C. awards ceremony and a humanitarian trip to the mountainous regions of Nicaragua, where Kelly was able to see first hand how the World Food program's efforts and his donations were able to give out healthy meals to the children in that region. Some of the efforts provided by Music For Mankind included the donation of baseball equipment to their Nicaraguan baseball team.
The title track of the album "Silently Hoping" was an instant inspriation. " 'Silently Hoping' was a direct result of my trip to Nicaragua, and seeing children with severe malnutrition and the '100 mile stare'. It's sad and very powerful at the same time. It motivates me incredibly to do all I can with my concerts to help those in such need."
Recently, Moore has been meeting with local, state and national politicians including the office of Senator Patrick Leahy and Congressman Peter Welch. In addition, Kelly has also met with Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern and Missouri Congresswoman JoAnn Emerson.
