NY (AP) - Lenny Kravitz will release his sixth album, simply titled Lenny, in early November on Virgin Records. The release is his first since last year's Greatest Hits, which featured the new single "Again," and his first album of new material since 1999's 5. In addition to playing most of the instruments -- including guitars, bass, drums, organ and stylophone - Kravitz produced the album himself. Texas singer/songwriter/guitarist Craig Ross - who's worked with Shawn Colvin, Lisa Germano and Natalie Merchant - co-wrote two songs and played on three. The first single will be "If I Could Fall in Love", and the album also features a track called "Bank Robber Man," Kravitz's highly charged, first-person account of being mistaken for a bank robber by Miami Beach, Florida police and handcuffed last November: "Do you think that I am the one that did it/Just because I'm tan?/Just then the officer at hand said/I don't give a damn that you are in a rock & roll band." "I was bumrushed before anything was explained," Kravitz told Rolling Stone at the time. He was released after witnesses' accounts cleared him, and several officers later stopped by his Miami Beach home to apologize. "In a way, it's nice," Kravitz said, "but if I wasn't Lenny Kravitz, they wouldn't be calling."
