New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Clint Eastwood's latest film 'Gran Torino' opened nationwide as the No 1 movie in America with a $29 million box office gross - the highest single-weekend total of Eastwood's legendary six-decade Hollywood career; and while audiences across America were crowding into theaters, Eastwood joined a packed ballroom full of celebrities at the Beverly Hilton for "The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards.' Eastwood, and his musical collaborator Jamie Cullum, were in attendance to celebrate the nomination of "Gran Torino" for "Best Original Song." Said Eastwood of Cullum - the Grammy nominated singer, pianist, and composer with sales of over five million albums worldwide - "I just see in him a great spontaneity... a great showman player, and I think he's everything that jazz needs today." Both Cullum and Eastwood are featured singing "Gran Torino" during the film's emotional finale, and Cullum's performance of the title-track is currently available as an exclusive download from iTunes. A worldwide star noted for his raw energy, insatiable musical creativity, and fearless and engaging live performances, Cullum's career on stage and on record has been marked with remarkable critical acclaim, sales, and fan support. Cullum has spent much of 2008 writing and recording material for his next album - the follow up to his breakout albums 'Twentysomething' and 'Catching Tales' - slated for release in early 2009.
