Seattle, WA. (Top40 Charts/ Jake Records) - Jake Records, a leading independent record label, today announced the signing of Hip Hop recording artist Esinchill to the label. Esinchill is a well-known artist, established in the West Coast Hip Hop scene as one of the "ones to watch." With roots established as a former member of the multi-platinum group Digital Underground, as well as tirelessly building a reputation on his own, Esinchill is poised to explode onto a larger stage. No stranger to explosions, though, Esinchill recently touched off a bout of controversy with his Fall 2008 single "Secret Service" which playfully describes a romp through the White House. Internet forums exploded in laughter and nods of agreement, while more conservative listeners were irritated and shocked by his bold and colorful lyrics. Either way, its agreed by most that Esinchill's writing-style and delivery brings a passion and upfront urgency missing in most of today's Hip Hop.

His artistry has also been noted by some of the best in the Hip Hop game with comments like "...tightest I've heard in years," from artist KRS-One. When multi-platinum rapper DJ Quik was asked to describe Esinchill, he emphatically stated "He's special, the same light as the great ones." Jake Records label mate, and longtime Esinchill friend and mentor Shock G perhaps said it best when he lamented that "Esinchill is a beast, easily one of the most talented patternists of our time. There's not many people in hip-hop who can match-up entire sentences like he does. His humor's wicked too. I guarantee three chuckles per verse, and at least one good hearty laugh per song."

"Esinchill is an artist on every level. His craft is within him, and when pen hits pad, and later lips meet microphones Esinchill astounds," said Jake Records Founder and CEO Scott Thomas. "What he brings to Hip Hop, the intensity, the realism in his lyrics, is worth sharing with the world. We're very excited to bring him into the Jake Records family but most excited about sharing his talents with everyone," he added.

On signing with Jake Records, Esinchill said "this is an infusion, primed for an intrusion."

His upcoming album, Vigilante, will be released on the label later this year, tentatively scheduled for late Spring. The album features the soulful Grammy Award winning Chicago crooner Dave Hollister, the Grammy nominated guitarist Dave Lopez (Flipsyde), Casual (Hieroglyphics), Mistah FAB, King Beef, the spoken word stalwart Ryan Nicole, and production by G-Unit's own Jake One.
