NEW YORK (Sigur Ros Official Website) - Having debuted their new video/short film for the first untitled track from the acclaimed album ( ) at this year's Sundance Film Festival, Sigur Ros will be returning to the US for a series of dates beginning with an already sold out March 15 appearance at Boston's Berklee Performance Center (a second date, March 16, has already been added). As evident in the narrative and aesthetic of the clip, Sigur Ros and video director Floria Sigismondi are united by a like-minded approach to their work. Both have been able to further their fearlessly unique visions to international acclaim: Floria with her extraordinary videos for the likes of David Bowie, Marilyn Manson and Leonard Cohen; Sigur Ros with the 2000 breakthrough Agaetis Byrjun and its equally revered 2002 follow-up ( ). Both produce emotionally stirring, absorbing creations that are equally haunting and hopeful, experimental yet accessible. This new video marks the first time Sigur Ros has stepped back and given a director license to create his or her own visual interpretation of the band's music. Sigismondi justifies this vote of confidence with a stunning six and a half minute glimpse into a not-too-distant future both disturbing and otherworldly, yet ultimately an all-too prescient warning of humanity's potential course.
