New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - On March 20th SXSW will host its fourth annual Ponderosa Stomp showcase at the Continental Club in Austin, TX. P-Stomp curator Ira Padnos has assembled an incredible lineup for the Stomp Revue. Highlights include Barbara Lynn, whose hit "Oh Baby (We've Got A Good Thing Goin')" was covered by The Rolling Stones; "Treat Her Right" wild man Roy Head; legendary garage acts The Elite and Floyd Dakil; and enigmatic psych pioneers Silver Apples. "One of Rolling Stone's top 5 radio stations the in the country, New Orleans' WWOZ, will air a live broadcast from the venue.

Committed to sharing "rock's secret history" (Wall Street Journal), The Ponderosa Stomp continues to carry out its mission of giving the unsung heroes of rockabilly, soul, funk, gospel, blues, rhythm and blues, and garage rock their due. Other artists scheduled to appear include Eli "Paperboy" Reed and the True Loves who will perform with Barbara Lynn; Dallas / Fort Worth garage legends The Elite and The Excels; blues guitar maulers Little Joe Washington, Lil' Buck Senegal, and Classie Ballou; classic Texas rockabilly from Huelyn Duvall; and Austin band Eve and The Exiles.

In addition, Dr. Ira "Dr. Ike" Padnos will appear on a panel entitled Music Festivals: Risks & Rewards, March 19 at 3:30pm at the Austin Convention Center, Room 15. Also, Roy Head, backed by The Bo-Keys, will do a set at Little Steven's Underground Garage Party at Antone's (213 W 5th St.) that afternoon.

Of 2006's SXSW showcase, the Austin American-Statesman declared, "If there was another set during the whole SXSW with more passion, sweat, commitment, resonance and sheer, unalloyed fun, I'd like to know what it was." In 2007, the Austin Chronicle proclaimed that the Stomp showcase "proved that not only are these artists still vital, they move audiences in ways that others can't."

This year's eighth annual Ponderosa Stomp Festival will be held April 28th and 29th at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Jon Pareles of The New York Times called the Ponderosa Stomp "a party on its way to becoming an institution," while The LA Times' Steve Hochman called it "a wail of a time." The Ponderosa Stomp continues to elevate some of America's most pioneering performers by bringing their names back into the spotlight and creating incredible, once-in-a-lifetime on-stage collaborations.
