ENCINO, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Academy of Country Music) - Tickets are available now for the all star country concert television taping of GEORGE STRAIT - ACM ARTIST OF THE DECADE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, April 6th, 2009 to air at a later date on the CBS Television Network. This live concert event will feature an amazing lineup of country music superstars-including scheduled performances by Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and more-paying tribute to "The King of Country" George Strait and his legendary 25-year career. The show will be produced for television by dick clark productions.

The event will tape the day after the 44th ANNUAL Academy of Country Music Awards which are produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

Only four other acts have received the Artist of the Decade honor, including Marty Robbins in 1969, Loretta Lynn in 1979, Alabama in 1988 and Garth Brooks in 1998. This marks the first time the Artist of the Decade honor will be presented as a separate television special.

Tickets are still available to the public for this event for $200, $150 and $100 through Ticketmaster.com and for any questions please email [email protected]. Proceeds of all sales benefit the Academy of Country Music Charitable Fund (ACMCF).
