MIAMI, Fl. (Dancestar Website) - First Live Performers Announced: Grammy Award winners Dirty Vegas and DJ Sammy - Tiesto, Sanchez and Tenaglia to present accolades

Miami, Florida, February 28th 2003: DanceStar USA The American Dance Music Awards has announced acclaimed Hollywood actress Juliette Lewis and Latin screen sensation Roselyn Sanchez as the hosts for The Second Annual American Dance Music Awards set for Wednesday March 19th on the sands of Miami Beach, Florida.

Lewis is best known for her Oscar nominated role in Cape Fear and stunning performance in Natural Born Killers. Lewis also featured in the infamous Daft Punk Gap television advertising campaign. She will join the new Latin bombshell Roselyn Sanchez, who most recently starred in Rush Hour 2 alongside Jackie Chan.
The Puerto Rican-born �It' girl of the Latino stage and screen is being hailed as the new J-Lo and is certain to leave the Miami audience hypnotized with her seductive good looks. Sanchez is destined to steal the movie spotlight in March with roles in �Basic' alongside John Travolta and �Boattrip' starring Cuba Gooding Jr.

Both hosts will join a multitude of live acts including a performance from Dirty Vegas, who are nominated for five award categories including Best Album and Record of the Year. Oscar G and Ralph Falcon will perform their massive hit single �Dark Beat' featuring OBA Frank Lord, with additional performances by iio and DJ Sammy - one of the biggest selling album artists in dance music history. More acts will be announced over the next few weeks.

Recent Grammy winner and last year's DanceStar USA host Roger Sanchez leads the presenters lineup together with Paul Van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Pete Tong, The Crystal Method, BT, George Acosta, Josh Wink, Christopher Lawrence, Jellybean Benitez, Kristine W, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon and Louie Devito. A total of twenty-six awards will be presented including accolades for new categories such as �Best Use of Music in a Commercial', �Best Movie Soundtrack' and �Best Celebrity DJ'.

CEO and Founder of DanceStar, Andy Ruffell said: "Miami is the perfect home for DanceStar USA, the support we are receiving from the mayors office, Ocean Drive Committee and local media has been tremendous. We are on course to make DanceStar USA one of the biggest music shows in America within three years."

Following the awards ceremony, the DanceStar USA After-show Party takes place at Opium Garden, one of Miami's legendary open-air clubs, The Garden hosts a Tribute to Def Mix with David Morales, Frankie Knuckles and Satoshi Tomiie � celebrating their 15th Anniversary. The Imperial Room houses King Street & Positiva's 10th Anniversary, while the Breakthrough DJ Room will feature Saeed & Palash, Robbie Rivera and DJ Collette. Prive, Opium Garden's adjacent VIP club will see an exclusive set played by five time nominee Dirty Vegas. A limited number of tickets are being sold to the public via Groovetickets.com priced at $30.00.

DanceStar USA 2003 is being staged �live' on the beach in Lummus Park, just steps away from the legendary Ocean Drive, making this year's awards ceremony the first of it's kind in the U.S and largest televised dance music event in the world. DanceStar USA and DancePass.net once again team-up for a Live-On-Demand webcast on Microsoft's windowsmedia.com. This year's coverage will include more than one hundred hours of original content. Pre-event coverage begins March 15. Global television broadcast details will be announced prior to the show.

Online voting expectations have already been exceeded with thousands of votes coming in daily on dancestar.com. By the time votes are collated, over 1 million consumers are expected to have chosen who they think represents the best of the dance music world. In order to accommodate the anticipated surge in demand, organizers are making hundreds more tickets available to the public.

DanceStar USA will also be producing a free souvenir edition magazine this Spring featuring reviews of the electronic dance music world over the past year together with highlights from this year's show. The magazine will be available exclusively through Borders in each of their 500 stores nationwide with discounts in-store on nominated products.

The international success of the inaugural 2002 American Dance Music Awards, held at The Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami, made it the premier dance event of last year with broadcasts on MTV2 USA, MTV Europe, Star TV Asia and a live web cast on Microsoft's windowsmedia.com featuring Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, Fatboy Slim and Paul Oakenfold. The show had an estimated global reach of nearly 1 billion viewers making it the largest global audience in dance music history.

Since it's launch in London in 2000, DanceStar has become the world's largest dance music awards platform, developed as the first globally televised dance music event with shows in London, the U.S and Asia. The shows were created to celebrate the achievements of the industry's main players and born out of the need to recognize the significant impact of dance music worldwide and the expansion of dance music culture.
