On Amazon SCOTTS VALLEY, CA. (Top40 Charts/ CreateSpace) - CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) group of companies, today announced that more than 20 notable record labels are using CreateSpace's Disc on Demand service to bring Amazon.com customers a selection of out-of-print music and albums as part of the 'Back from the Vault' program (www.amazon.com/backfromthevault). Among the expanding roster of participating labels are EMI Music, Sony Music and Warner Music Group, as well as venerable independent labels such as Epitaph, GNP Crescendo, Rounder and Shout! Factory. Now, music fans can re-discover albums from their favorite artists on both CD and MP3.

With the 'Back from the Vault' program, CreateSpace has helped release more than 1,000 out-of-print titles. Classic music from jazz artists Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk and Dizzy Gillespie, pop/rock stars Shawn Colvin and Hall & Oates, country favorites Alabama and Rodney Crowell, as well as Louis Armstrong, Wyclef Jean, Herbie Hancock, Benny Goodman and Django Reinhardt will now be available.

'Sony Music is pleased to make formerly out-of-print music available on CD through CreateSpace's Disc on Demand program and via Amazon's 'Back from the Vault' store,' said Harry Safter, senior vice president of catalog, Sony Music. 'Fans of all music genres can now finally collect many previously unavailable Sony Music titles from well-known artists.'

CreateSpace is making these artists' titles available again via its CD on Demand service, which manufactures CDs only after customers place orders, so no pre-built inventory is ever needed. Using the Disc on Demand service, the albums - many of which were previously only available in vinyl or cassette tape form or had long been out of print on CD - will be available to fans on Amazon.com in CD and MP3 formats.

'The Disc on Demand model is the perfect way for labels to ensure that their artists' fans have access to all of their favorite music tracks on CD and MP3 - no matter how long ago the music was recorded or in what format it was originally released,' said Dana LoPiccolo-Giles, managing director of CreateSpace.

The latest 'Back from the Vault' announcement comes on the heels of Blue Note Records' 'Back from the Vault' on-demand re-release of more than 200 formerly out-of-print recordings from across its 70-year history.
