New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The Ponderosa Stomp Foundation has confirmed its first ever film series titled, "Celluloid Heroes: Rock'n'Roll on Film," to accompany the concert, conference and museum exhibit that make up this year's Ponderosa Stomp Festival, April 27-29, in New Orleans.
Like the conference and Louisiana State Museum exhibit, "Celluloid Heroes" will be held at the historic Cabildo building in the French Quarter and includes six recent documentaries that take past and present Ponderosa Stomp performers - Roky Erickson, Wanda Jackson, The Remains, Cowboy Jack Clement and others - as their subjects. See below for complete schedule.
The Ponderosa Stomp Foundation plans to expand "Celluloid Heroes" into a year-round program. Producer Madeleine Molyneaux hopes "to incorporate films and videos from around the world that exemplify the renegade rock'n'roll spirit of their subjects."
