MARLTON, N.J. (Top40 Charts/ NARM) - The National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) announces that it will honor legendary musical artists Daryl Hall and John Oates with the Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement. The duo, which has sold more albums than any other in history during their nearly 40-year career, will be presented with the prestigious industry Award by NARM Chairman Rachelle Friedman, CEO of New York's J&R Music & Computer World, at the Awards Dinner Finale of the Association's four-day Annual Convention, NARM Connects: Physical…Digital…Mobile, in San Diego, California on Wednesday, June 10.

From the 1970s to mid-'80s, six of the duo's songs reached No 1, and they enjoyed multiple top 10 hits, including 'Rich Girl,' 'Kiss on My List,' 'Private Eyes,' 'I Can't Go For That (No Can Do),' 'Maneater' and 'Out of Touch' from their six consecutive multi-platinum albums: Bigger Than Both of Us, Voices, Private Eyes, H2O, Rock N Soul, Part I, and Big Bam Boom.

NARM President Jim Donio says, "NARM congratulates Daryl Hall and John Oates for their remarkable talents as singers, songwriters and musicians and for their inspiring creativity. Their soulful melodies have transcended four decades and crossed all demographics, and they have allowed multiple generations to enjoy their signature Rock and Soul music and appreciate their influence.'

Previous recipients of the NARM Chairman's Award include B.B. King, Chicago, Carlos Santana, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Lena Horne, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Fleetwood Mac, and others.

NARM advances the promotion, marketing, distribution and sale of music by providing its members with a forum for diverse meeting and networking opportunities, information and education to support their businesses, as well as advocating for their common interests.
