MINNEAPOLIS (Top40 Charts/ FINNEGANS ShamROCK 2009) - Today, FINNEGANS Irish Amber, the beer that gives 100 percent of its profits to charity, announced the lineup of live music and festivities for its third annual ShamROCK event on Saturday, June 6, at The Cabooze Outdoor Plaza on the edge of Downtown Minneapolis. ShamROCK is the first major outdoor music event of the summer. Proceeds benefit Heading Home Hennepin, a plan designed to end homelessness in Minneapolis and Hennepin County by the year 2016.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur makes his long-awaited return to the Twin Cities with amazing talents that unite music, art, film and drama to deliver an unforgettable experience every time he performs. Arthur will be joined by a band that includes Kraig Johnson, a Twin Cities native and former member of the The Jayhawks, Golden Smog, Iffy and Run Westy Run.
The Twilight Hours, the latest, and some say greatest project from the former members of Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare, will make its first performance in front of a large crowd. The band plans to release an album later in the summer with a tour to follow.
Jeremy Messersmith, who was honored by City Pages as the '2007 Songwriter of the Year' and is regarded as 'Simon and Garfunkel with a twist,' will perform his literate, languid, yet warm songs that inspire wide-eyed clarity and a belief in miracles.
Jump-starting the event will be the ever-popular local musician, Tim Mahoney, who recently won Ray Ban's nationwide 'Never Hide' songwriting contest sponsored by Rolling Stone and MySpace with a portfolio of honest, pensive and infectiously catchy songs.
In addition to the music lineup, there will be a 5K Fun Run (or Crawl), a beer pong championship, and a beer bottle cap fashion show with great prizes for the participants including two Sun Country round-trip airfare tickets.
Together, this lineup of music and events will entertain the festive audience while raising money and awareness for an important cause.
