Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ GEORGE STRAIT Official Website) - Grammy award winning country music artist George Strait is returning to Houston for the first time since 2001. Strait's tour will stop at the Reliant Stadium on August 8, 2009 and he's bringing along some very special guests including hit country duo Sugarland, singer/songwriter Blake Shelton and recording artist and two-time Dancing With The Stars champion Julianne Hough.

Tickets go on sale at 10 am, May 16 at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800.745.3000 and on the web at ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices are $125, $99.50, $61.50, and $22.

This year, Strait's Troubadour was named "Best Country Album" during the 51st Annual Grammy Awards and in April he received the Academy of Country Music's 'Artist of the Decade' award in recognition of his record-breaking career. The 'Artist of the Decade' tribute special, recorded at the MGM Garden Arena, features country's biggest names singing their favorite Strait hits. Included on the bill are Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban among others. The star-studded event of a lifetime will air May 27th at 8pm et/pt on CBS.

With a career that spans more than 25 years, Strait holds the record for the most Number One hits on the country radio charts with a total of 57. He has sold more than 67 million records, garnering him 32 different platinum or multi-platinum albums resulting in the most RIAA platinum certification in country music and the third in all genres, behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are country duo Sugarland (www.sugarlandmusic.com) who exploded onto the music scene in '04 with Twice The Speed Of Life ("Baby Girl" and "Something More"). Enjoy the Ride (No 1 hits "Want To", "Settlin'" and "Stay") quickly followed in '06. Their third studio album Love On The Inside ("It Happens", "Love" and No 1's "All I Want To Do" and "Already Gone") was released July '08 and skyrocketed them to superstardom, drawing fans from all genres and critics abroad. Sugarland is credited with co-writing all tracks from all three regular albums and co-producing the last two. Earlier this year they performed in eleven different European cities, and is currently headlining a U.S. tour thru October. They've sold over 5 million records, received trophies from the Grammy's, AMA's, ACM, CMT and CMA awards and recently performed for the Presidential Inauguration and on Oprah.
With five No 1 singles, ten No 1 videos and over 2.5 million albums sold, Warner Bros. Records recording artist Blake Shelton is keeping the fires raging with his latest release, Startin' Fires. Startin' Fires has already spawned the multi-week No 1 single, "She Wouldn't Be Gone," the follow-up to his multi-week No 1 single "Home" from Pure BS Deluxe. His current single, "I'll Just Hold On" is rapidly climbing up the charts. NBC 's Clash of the Choirs and his announcement in December 2008 as one of People Magazine's "Sexiest Men Alive" have helped raise his profile across the board over the last year. Shelton will be joining the legendary George Strait on tour this summer.

Julianne Hough recently topped both the country and Top 200 charts with her self-titled debut album, as well as with the infectious debut single "That Song In My Head." Her first holiday album, The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection, was a top-selling Christmas release for Target stores and she recently took home the 2009 ACM award for New Artist of the Year.
