NUERNBERG, Germany (Top40 Charts/ Kontor New Media) - As the Canadian-Franconian collective introduced their self-titled debut album and first single 'Real Boy' to the worldwide public, the interest was clearly high from the beginning.
The first video filming followed immediately, and with it the band was awarded at Canada's Cravefest, and crowned Best International Electronic Group by Toronto Exclusive. In Germany they played that summer at many festivals including Southside, Sonnenrot, Weinturm Open Air, or the Bremen Viertelfest in front of an enthusiastic and constantly growing group of fans. There was no question that they would strike again, the question was, when?

When Matthias Heyder from the Hamburger production company Erste Liebe, (who has filmed videos for Tocotronic, Seeed, Die Arzte or Fettes Brot) called last autumn, and offered a collaboration, that question got its answer. On an chilly day the band met him at Stuttgart's Art Academy and brought the idea to life with Heyder and his 11 man crew. The result made its way to the desktops of Label Modern-Soul only a few weeks later, and proved to impress.
Remixes from Malente and Bird Berlin
Aside from the video-cut, electro wizard Malente whipped up a modern and electronic based disco version of the up-tempo number 'Sweat'. The club-charts top artist (2008) has mixed tracks from the Tuntabelrockern, Foals and Moonbootica, under Fatboy Slims label Southern Fried and A-Track's Fool's Gold label.
As a treat and the sugar-on-top for all Wrongkong fans there is also a trashy disco cover version of 'Real Boy', from the trash-bomb Bird Berlin (Nuremburg/Hersbruck), who's known also as lead singer from the post-rock formation The Audience. A definite must-hear!
New single 'Sweat' is released 29 May, 2009.
