Become A Witness To Saint Bernadette's 'Galvanizing' Live Show

NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Saint Bernadette, who play "galvanizing live sets" (Hartford Advocate), are set to bring their "fiery" (New Haven Register) aggro-rock to Bridgeport, Connecticut's Sweetport Music Festival Saturday, May 30.

The group recorded a recent performance of their 'Love Is A Stranger" from the 2007 'I Wanna Tell You Something' EP at Brooklyn, New York's Southpaw. The song begins with lead singer Meredith DiMenna channeling the supple, velvety voice of Shirley Bassey, right before it becomes a Janis Joplin-like soul jam.

The Sweetport Festival at McLevy Green will feature the Mates of State and some of Connecticut's most enjoyable local talents, such as The Zambonis, Caravan of Thieves and M.T. Bearington. There will also be DJ sets by music journalist and comedian Michael Azerrad (Our Band Could Be Your Life) and reggae dub master Yves Wilson.

Saint Bernadette have worked tirelessly to help Bridgeport's music scene grow. DiMenna reflects, "When we first came to Bridgeport and played the Sweetport Festival, it was just a few local bands playing at lunchtime to a few cops and some homeless people." "Now," she adds, "it's a huge community event... This was what we always believed was possible, and is now happening."
