San Francisco (Top40 Charts) - Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted's new band, EchoBrain, will make its live debut on the final night of Nadine's Wild Weekend at Bimbo's in San Francisco on Aug. 19.

While EchoBrain, which includes Brian Sagrafena and Dylan Donkin, has been jamming together for the past few years, this will be the power-rock trio's first official gig.
"It was important for us to play our first show in the Bay Area, and there is no better way to debut than Nadine's Wild Weekend," says Newsted in a statement released Thursday (Aug. 9). "Dylan and Brian were born and raised here, and I've been living in the Bay Area for awhile now, so, to me, EchoBrain is very much like homegrown California music. The whole thing works perfectly into our plan and we are totally psyched that we're involved."

Nadine's Wild Weekend takes place in S.F. from Aug. 16 through Aug. 19 and also includes shows by Mirv, the Moss Brothers, the KGB, Spike 1000, the Naked Barbies, Glasstown, Virgil Shaw, and other indie bands.
