New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Eyeball Records) - New York's KISS KISS have recently announced new tour dates in support of the band's upcoming sophomore album, The Meek Shall Inherit What's Left (out July 7th on Eyeball Records). Warming up for the tour with a gig supporting
Portugal. The Man at Brooklyn's Southpaw on June 17th, the 4-week tour with Fake Problems kicks off on June 25th in Columbia, SC. See all tour dates below.
"We are all very proud of our new record and cannot wait to play it live for the first time," says vocalist/keyboardist Josh Benash. He adds "Our goal with live performances is to create an atmosphere of cathartic energy, so bring something you'd like to break. See you all on the road."
Known for their raucous live shows, DEATH + TAXES magazine claims Kiss Kiss "manages to mold infectious pop out of avant-garde insanity. Go see them live and you'll understand - you won't know whether to laugh, cry, or poop yourself. Trust me, it's a good thing."
In anticipation to the new album and tour, Kiss Kiss has posted the track "All They Draw" on MySpace (www.myspace.com/kisskiss). The band is also offering a stream of the track "Innocent I (The Corruption Of Self Through The Introduction Of Naturally Existing Self Producing Chemicals)" here: www.reybee.com/kisskiss/innocent_i/kisskiss_innocent_i.mp3. Kiss Kiss enlisted D. James Goodwin (Nora Jones, The Bravery, Murder By Death, Thursday) to produce The Meek Shall Inherit What's Left, which took the better part of a year to complete. After doctors said Benash probably wouldn't be able to sing again due to a vocal polyp and a vocal node, he mimed all of his ideas to his band mates for four months before the band hit the studio. After recording keyboards, bass, drums and a string quartet (led by violinist Rebecca Schlappich) in a guesthouse in Saugerties, NY for two months, Benash spent another four months recording vocals and experimenting with circuit bent drums, modified guitars and a number of analog keyboards. Kiss Kiss is Benash, Schlappich, Michael Pat Abiuso (guitar), Patrick Southern (bass), Jared Karns (drums)
