New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Tropical Records/ Sunset Records) - After releasing one of the most critically acclaimed (and perhaps most overlooked) reggae albums of 2007, Cryout seeks to make another big splash with his latest CD, Nothing Beats A Failure But A Try. Once again, working his CD through the Sunset records system, the new CD will be released at the Tropical Records world music Indy label. The Cd is of course self produced seeking the aid of Rudy Love and all-around musical songwriter and performer, Andrew Summers for the recording of the Nothing beats A Failure But A Try CD. 'It's not that Jerry (pka Cryout) needs any push or magical touch per say,' says Don Lichterman, the head of Tropical Records and Sunset Records. 'This is his third album that I know he has produced in the world of reggae over the past several years, but recording this music in that spiritual and even inspirational way is the key to a great reggae album. When his fans hear the Nothing Beats A Failure But A Try CD, it's the perfect progression for this staff producer / A&R person because the entire CD is filled with songs that are classic roots reggae.' "Dance With Me" and "Island Girl" in specifically remind you of being on any island in the world, with soothing vocals and a laid-back reggae and Caribbean vibe. The instrumentation is also fluent; we get some eclectic dubs (remix work created and produced by Jerry Criner pka Cryout), plus extended musical mixes such as the Dance With Me remix song that is also been placed on the CD. As the CD states, Nothing beats A Failure But A Try is relevant to him personally and very much accessible to all reggae fans - and often upbeat, yet the songs are kindhearted, gentle which is the case in songs like "My Angel" and "Greyhound" - that showcase the reggae artist's lovers side of himself. Cryout's latest release is set to hit stores on June 9th. The CD is a sure thing for reggae aficionados and for world music fans that complain that reggae music is not what it used to be as far as its roots. And, for the reggae fans that have not yet heard Cryout's first two (2) CD releases, Cherokee Nation and Righteous Medication For The Soul, should get those albums for their collection. Tour plans for Cryout are being planned now and there are a few record release shows being played in preparation for the live tour slated for later this year. www.Cryout.Tropical-Records.com.
