New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Amy Speace will be releasing 'The Killer In Me' June 30, and it features the alluring tune "Blue Horizon." The song was originally written as a poem, a decade ago, about the abrupt end of a close friendship. She came back to the words while viewing a Monet exhibit in a Paris museum, inspired by the impressionistic "wonderful mess" of the masterpieces. During a late-night recording session with her band and producer Mitch Easter (REM, Pavement), the watery dreamscapes of Monet's works came to life on record. On "Blue Horizon," Amy sings, "If I die the way of memory/A grass-stained tear around its neck/Then I'd be sure to comb out all the knots/And leave New York in the dust." The lucid lyrics are balanced with ethereal, trembling horns, an echo-soaked guitar solo and a deep, brooding bass line. 'The Killer In Me' is out on Judy Collins's Wildflower Records label June 30.
