New York (Top40 Charts/ Big Reunion Festival PR) - Former Budapest singer/songwriter, John Garrison, is set to perform on Thursday July 2nd at Monto Water Rats Theater in London. Garrison will be performing songs from his second solo album, Departures, which will be released worldwide in late August. Following the break-up of Budapest in 2006, Garrison moved to New York City and immersed himself in the city's music scene in search of a new sound. He soon became a regular face in all of the usual music venues across the Big Apple, acquiring a loyal and passionate following. During this time, Garrison recorded and released his debut solo album Above The Cosmos on his own Johnny Vic Records Label. Shortly after, he took 18 months off to reconnect with his 1st musical passion, the bass guitar. Garrison entered the studio with various household names such as Leona Lewis, James Blunt and Gary Barlow with an additional 15 month world tour with Blunt. It was while on the road that Garrison wrote Departures using his experiences in NYC and around the globe as influence. With his heart firmly on his sleeve, Departures documents Garrison's time in New York and all that he had to leave behind to pursue his musical dream. Refreshingly, and sometimes brutally honest, Garrison opens his heart and soul for all to see on his new record. Mixing all of his musical influences from, Talk Talk and Ennio Morricone; to Scott Walker and Radiohead, Departures is a soundtrack for anyone who has followed their own heart and dreams, regardless of the consequences. Garrison will perform at Monto Water Rats Theater located at 328 Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross on Thursday July 2nd, 2009. Tickets are on sale now at themonto.com and the band is scheduled to hit the stage at 9:00 PM.
