NEW YORK (Mariah Carey Official & Ashanti Fans Websites) - Ashanti will be the opening act on the North American leg of Mariah Carey's Charmbracelet World Tour. The 21-date trek will kick off July 18 in Anchorage, Alaska, and wrap Sept. 21 in Manchester, N.H.

The two artists will actually hook up prior to the tour, as both are slated to perform June 1 at WHTZ New York's (Z100) Zootopia concert at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kelly Clarkson, Third Eye Blind, and Jewel are also on the bill, which will boast the first and last performance by TLC's Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozanda "Chili" Thomas as a duo without late founding group member Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes. Britney Spears will serve as guest host of the event.

Ashanti will touring behind her sophomore album, "Chapter II," due July 1 via Murder Inc. The set is led by the Chink Santana and Irv Gotti-produced single "Rock With U (Awww Baby). Released in April 2002, Ashanti's self-titled debut has sold 3.3 million copies in the U.S.
