New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ July For Kings Official Website) - Loyal fans of July For Kings, Cincinnati's own homegrown rock group, will at long last get to hear what's new with JFK as they release a new album, MONOCHROME, this summer after a four-year hiatus. Progress picked up speed for this melodic-rock quintet after their 2002 MCA records release SWIM. The first single 'Normal Life' received nationwide airplay, catching the ears of Billboard Magazine, and Rolling Stone and launching them on to the national tour circuit with the likes of Collective Soul and The Counting Crows. Their 2005 EP, NOSTALGIA, continued their snowballing success as it was the No 1 most purchased album at CDBaby.com that year. Front man Joe Hedges would record and release a solo album, CURVATURE, before deciding it was time for another July For Kings release. After adding two new faces to the line-up, Hedges began working on MONOCHROME in 2007. While staying true to the style of their previous releases, JFK, as heard in MONOCHROME, has matured to a more positive and upbeat message with a fresher, more modern approach. MONOCHROME may be undeniably rock, but fans will hear assorted sprinklings of blues and country, as the band shows off their songwriting and production prowess. MONOCHROME will be released on iTunes, julyforkings.com, and in Barnes & Noble stores on June 23rd. The first single "Say It Now" is now available at myspace.com/julyforkings. July For Kings will perform at the Madison Theater with Smalltown Sleeper and Cavashawn on Saturday June 27th. The show is all ages and starts at 8:00.
