WASHINGTON, DC (Top40 Charts/ RIAA) - Walt Disney megastar Miley Cyrus' new soundtrack to Hannah Montana: The Movie promptly certified Platinum in only two months, according to the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) monthly Gold & Platinum count. Fans purchased more than one million copies of the soundtrack to earn Miley her ninth career Platinum award. Look for Miley on tour this fall with Metro Station, the L.A. pop band fronted by her brother Trace Cyrus.

Poe Boy/Atlantic rapper Flo Rida received the top spot for most G & P digital single certifications in May. His songs 'Low' and 'Right Round' went 5x and 3x Platinum respectively while his latest single 'Sugar' certified Gold, all totaling more than 8.5 million digital downloads sold. 'Low' is off Flo's first album Mail on Sunday (2006) while 'Right Round' and 'Sugar' are from his second album R.O.O.T.S. (2009).

It's already been quite a year for Lady Gaga (full name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta). The NYC-born artist who took her name from Queen's song 'Radio Gaga' received her very first Platinum album award for her very first album The Fame. On the singles side, this past March, her Grammy-nominated hit single for Best Dance Recording 'Just Dance' certified triple-Platinum.

The Now That's What I Call Music!, Vol. 30 (featuring Ms. Gaga herself, Jason Mraz, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and more) was awarded Gold for selling more than 500,000 copies. This fan-favorite compilation series continues to strike Gold - all 30 volumes are certified Gold or higher! Look for the next album in the series, Now That's What I Call Music! 31, to be released on June 30.

Popular artists Maino, Asher Roth, Matt Nathanson and Shinedown each received their first ever single certifications in May:

Atlantic recording artist Maino's 'All the Above' earned the Brooklyn rapper his premiere Gold. The song features Nappy Boy rapper T-Pain and is from Maino's second album If Tomorrow Comes.... T-Pain himself took a Platinum mastertone prize for selling more than one million mobile downloads of 'Can't Believe It' off his Thr33 Ringz (Gold).

Philly-area bred hip hop rapper Asher Roth's 'I Love College' went both Gold & Platinum. 'I Love College' is the first single from Roth's major-label debut Asleep in the Bread Aisle (Universal Records), released in April.

Matt Nathanson's 'Come on Get Higher' (Vanguard) upped to Platinum standing in May. His very first ever RIAA certification was for the same song hitting Gold last February. Additionally upped to premiere Platinum was Atlantic hard rock band Shinedown's 'Second Chance.'

J Records recording artist, American actor and stand-up comedian Jamie Foxx's 'Blame It' rang Gold & Platinum mastertone status in May. BET's 2008 Best Gospel Artist Marvin Sapp's 'Never Would Have Made It' (Verity) also went Platinum as a mastertone. Good luck to this year's Best Gospel Artist nominees Regina Belle, Shirley Caesar, Mary Mary, Smokie Norful and Trin-I-Tee 5:7. See who wins by watching BET's 2009 awards show, hosted by Foxx, airing June 28th this month.

In May, the RIAA awarded a 12 total digital singles, 9 albums and 4 mastertones. All certifications are calculated by Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman. Complete lists of all album, single, mastertone and video awards can also be accessed at www.riaa.com.
