New York, NY (Top40 Charts/
Digital Praise) -
Digital Praise Inc, a leading developer of family-friendly Christian computer games, announced that Dance Praise for the iPhone and iPod Touch is now available at the iTunes store. Dance Praise for the iPhone combines a robust tapping game with music from top Christian artists. "Dance Praise is the first full-featured iPhone game with Christian music," says Tom Bean, President and CEO of
Digital Praise. He adds, "Dance Praise builds on the popularity of current tapping games and adds deeper scoring, onscreen action, arcade mode and quality music to reach players of all ages." The game is based on the successful Dance Praise franchise for PC and Mac that was released in 2005. Bean continues, "The iPhone App Store allows us to reach an even broader market with this game. We're very excited about its potential." Users can download the game for $4.99 at the iPhone App store.
In Dance Praise, hit songs by Newsboys, tobyMac, Superchick, Audio Adrenaline and other Christian artists pulsate as players tap while following onscreen arrows. Lyrics appear in sync with the music while 3-D dancers boogie in the background. Each of the 15 songs offers four levels of play, from easy to expert. There are 60 different dances. Christian music tracks include Your Love is Better than Life by Newsboys, Dive by Steven Curtis Chapman, Made to Love by tobyMac, If We Are the Body by Casting Crowns, and more.
Dance Praise for the iPhone includes a unique "Arcade On" feature, which challenges players by adding surprise elements that increase or decrease their score. Elements include smoke bombs, strobe lights, disco ball, changes in target size, bonus points and deductions. The bonus points can layer on top of each other to increase the player's scoring potential. For the best score, users play strategically to capitalize on positive elements and avoid negative ones.
Dance Praise utilizes the accelerometer feature of the iPhone. Players can shake the device to pick a random song. And, in the hard and expert levels, arc notes increase the challenge and instruct the player to tilt the device to the left or right to earn the points for that note.
The scoring and record keeping capabilities of Dance Praise equal those in any other tapping game for the iPhone. High scores for each song are shown onscreen on the top of the album cover for that song. In addition, players can post their high scores online. If they rank among the top six scores around the world, their scores will show up on competitors' iPhones as well. Players start with one 3-D dancer and earn three more characters as they play the game. As they progress, they earn a star each time they complete three songs. They can apply that star to unlock a new onscreen dancer or add new backgrounds, clothes, and dances to the dancer currently onscreen.
