New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Loch Ness Records) - WASTED ANGEL, the new album from Sex Slaves, is now available on iTunes and dozens of other digital outlets. Released on the band's own imprint, Loch Ness Records, and including the songs 'Bloodlust,' 'Beautiful Embrace,' and 'I Was There' among its thirteen tracks, WASTED ANGEL, the Sex Slaves' third release, is evidence of a maturing, evolving, road-tested band.
Drawn from a vast catalog of experiences from extensive touring and life in the New York City underground, one can hear the band's diverse influences on the new album.
The Stooges and New York Dolls; The Dead Boys and Ramones; The
Beatles and the Stones; even Hank Williams; all come through in the new material. From the good-time anthem, and lead single, 'Ssssay What?' to the deeper, dirge-like 'I Live at Night,' this music demands attention.
Having recorded WASTED ANGEL last year in Orange County, Calif., the band manages to span the difference between home in the east and the studio out west. As bassist Del Cheetah says, 'In California, everyone smokes weed, wears board shorts and has barbecues; in New York it's prostitutes, crystal meth and Oxycontin binges.' With this collection, Sex Slaves have a boot firmly planted in each camp.
In addition to the thirteen new tracks, the enhanced CD, available at www.sexslavesnyc.com, includes the video for the song 'Long Live the Dead.'
Watch out. Third time's the charm. Here comes Sex Slaves' WASTED ANGEL.
