The Russ Spiegel Jazz Orchestra Live In NYC

NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Redwood Entertainment) - The Russ Spiegel Jazz Orchestra will perform live at The Gershwin Hotel in NYC on Tuesday August 11th, 2009, featuring music from their CD, 'Transplants.'

Recently voted as one of the Top 10 Jazz Albums of the Year by Michael Valentine, Music Director for WDNA 88.9 FM, "Transplants" comprises nine energetic and magnificently performed Big Band Jazz pieces, all arranged and produced by Russ Spiegel. In addition to six original compositions written by Russ, "Transplants" includes songs by legendary composers Duke Ellington, Ray Noble and Paul Weston.

On August 11th, The Russ Spiegel Jazz Orchestra will feature Rob Wilkerson, Alejandro Alviles, Tim Armacost, Stephan Kammerer and Frank Basile (Reeds); Colin Brigstocke, James Smith, Andy Gravish, and David Smith (Trumpets); Michael Boscarino, David Gibson, Andy Hunter and Brandon Moodie (Trombones); Art Hirahara (Piano); Yoshi Waki (Bass); Chris Benham (Drums) featuring Special Guest vocalist Dennis Jeter. Russ Spiegel is the composer, arranger, and guitarist.

The 17-man strong Russ Spiegel Jazz Orchestra consists of some of New York's most talented musicians, and between the scintillating arrangements, stellar compositions and amazing musicianship there is something for everyone.
