Western Civ To Play MidPoint Music Fest In Cincinnati As Well As MEANY Fest And CMJ Music Marathon

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Western Civ) - Chapel Hill based indie rockers Western Civ are scheduled to make a return to Cincinnati for MidPoint Music Festival 2009 on Thursday September, 24th at The Blue Wisp.

Since their first appearance at MidPoint Music Fest in 2007 the band has been quite busy! Recording their second full length album at Mitch Easter's (REM, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., Birds of Avalon) Fidelitorium recordings in Kernersville, NC, Western Civ has been on the fast track to gaining the respect of their indie rock peers and fans.
The album, Shower The People You Love With Gold! held for 6 weeks on the CMJ radio 200 charts as a self released project (associated with the anti-label NoMoreFakeLabels.com) and was listed in the top 10 best albums of the year by WXDU FM (one of the most influential college stations in the US!) Magnet magazine gave Shower the People... a great review, Crawdaddy (the oldest music mag in the country) sang their praises, babysue.com gave them a 5+++ and they were given 4 out of 5 stars by the Chicago Tribune, the Sun Sentinel, the Baltimore Sun, the Morning Call and the Orlando Sentinel!

MidPoint was one of the first festivals that Western Civ played outside of their home state and they are honored to be invited back to rock out with the phenomenal line up of touring and local Cincinnati independent musicians scheduled for this year's festival!
