NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Top40 Charts/ Universal Music) - Show Dog Nashville recording artist Toby Keith has the No. 1 song in the nation as " American Ride" tops both the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts. The song is the title track first single from Keith's new studio album, in stores next Tuesday, October 6. The tune's rapid ascension confirms Keith's position as the dominant radio artist of the decade. Additionally, Keith has now scored a No. 1 smash every year since his debut single "Should've Been A Cowboy" hit the top of the charts in 1993. Rising to the top 10 in only eight weeks, "American Ride" is Keith's fastest-moving single since 2001's "Courtesy of the Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)." Like that song, "Ride" seems to have tapped the collective consciousness of a nation in distress, this time serving up a wry rallying cry in the face of cultural and political absurdity. Toby Keith will embark on his first European tour in November.
