New York (Top40 Charts/ MAD Ink PR) - X, giants of the original L.A. punk scene, are planning to celebrate the Holiday spirit and send 2009 out with a bang! The original punk-rockers have four Holiday shows, slated to be held in Sacramento, San Francisco, and the band's home turf of L.A.
Adding to their classic playlist, this past August, the four original band members gathered in Billy Zoom's "Studio A" to record two holiday tracks for release this fall, "Santa Claus is coming to Town" and "Jingle Bells." They will be releasing their X-mas 'digital 45' collection this Thanksgiving, just in time for the start of the holiday season.
The L.A. punk scene in the late 70s saw its share of greatness, but few acts as talented as the now world-class, live, rock & roll band X. Their 2008 "13-31" Tour across the U.S. was something really special, celebrating the band's 31st anniversary, and 2009 shaped up to be just as amazing for the veteran rockers, with appearances at SXSW and Coachella Festivals, along with their own "X - TRL" Tour, where fans were able to help select each night's set list.
Sadly, this year also had its more solemn moments, as Exene shared with her fans, through the band's website, that she had been diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). Ever the leading lady, Exene has vowed to keep on performing, even releasing her own solo project, as she battles this debilitating disease. The original line-up of X is John Doe, Exene, Billy Zoom, and D.J. Bonebrake.
The X exclusive tour itinerary is:
December 19 The Wiltern Los Angeles, CA
December 29 Harlow's Sacramento, CA
December 30-31 Slims San Francisco, CA
