NEW YORK (White Stripes Official Website) - The White Stripes have announced some new concert dates to make up for the ones they were forced to postpone when singer/guitarist Jack White suffered a broken index finger in an auto accident last month. So far, nine rescheduled dates have been announced, starting November 10 in Milwaukee and running through November 26 in Pittsburgh. Dates in Nashville and Norfolk (Virginia) were scrapped, but the band intends to go to those cities when they can. Rescheduled dates for Boston, New York City, Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia will be released in the next few days. The White Stripes' nine west coast shows, starting September 13, are still intact. According to a message posted on the band's official website, White has not had an easy time recovering from his injury. He says he completely shattered the index finger on his left hand in the car accident. His doctors weren't happy with his progress and decided that White needed surgery on the finger--a decision which caused even more shows to be cancelled while the guitarist recovers. Meanwhile, if you have the stomach for it, Jack White has posted a film of his finger surgery on the band's official website, whitestripes.com!
