Thalia wants a hit in the fashion world!

MIAMI, Florida (KMART Stores & Thalia Fans Websites) - Mexican singer-actress Thalia is trying for a hit in the fashion world. She launched Kmart's Thalia Sodi collection at a store here Wednesday. The line will include women's clothing, accessories, footwear, eyeglasses, linens and home furnishings.

The collection is one of several commercial projects that she has in mind. "Since I was little I've had that vision of a businesswoman inside me," she said.

Financial terms of her Kmart contract weren't disclosed. Kmart executives have said they expect the line to generate between $300 million and $600 million in sales annually.
Distribution is to extend to 335 stores, a company spokesman said.
Kmart is using Thalia's self-titled English language CD to promote the collection.
