The video for 'Replay' was shot in Playa Del Rey, California and directed by Bobby Wan. The concept of the video plays to the song's narrative; featuring a Caribbean beach back drop as Iyaz's love interest takes over his ipod in a romantic twist on technology. 'Replay' was immediately added into rotation on MTV and MTV Hits and has been added into significant rotation on MTV Hits, MTV Jams, Fuse and Music Choice among other video channels. Replay streams around 700k times a week and the Replay prequel video was viewed approximately 5.5 million times on Youtube before the official version premiered last week. Iyaz has been named one of Entertainment weekly's Fresh faces off the charts,' saying 'the 22 year old is a dead ringer for Kingston's catchy island pop. He has a shot at emulating Kingston's hit- single success, too.' Billboard Magazine says, 'Iyaz has landed a hot single in the emerging genre of 'island pop.' [Replay] has become the 22 year old artist's introduction to U.S. audiences.'
At just 22 years old, Iyaz, who was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and now resides in Ft Lauderdale, was signed to Kingston's newly formed production company, Time Is Money Entertainment. J.R. Rotem crafted all of the tracks on Iyaz's album and subsequently signed Iyaz through Time Is Money to Beluga Heights, which has a new label partnership with Reprise Records. In fact, it was Kingston who first stumbled across Iyaz's MySpace page in May 2008, and recommended him to Rotem, who has worked with 50 cent, Britney Spears and Rick Ross. Now Kingston and Iyaz are inseparable friends and musical partners. With J.R. Rotem and Sean Kingston behind Iyaz, he is destined to become the next breakout star in this new genre of Island Pop music.
