BURBANK, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - Muses current single Uprising has remained at No. 1 for 18 consecutive weeks on Mediabases Alternative Rock chart - breaking a record for the longest run at No. 1 in the history of the chart, previously held by Foo Fighters.

Uprising is the first single from The Resistance, the British rock trios fifth studio album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Alternative, Rock, and Internet album charts, No. 2 on the Overall Digital Album chart, and earned the band their highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart by bowing at No. 3. An international smash, The Resistance also notched 20 No. 1 debuts around the world, including Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and the U.K., where the album sold close to 150,000 copies making it the best-selling album by a UK artist this year.

The Resistance was produced by Muse and mixed by famed audio engineer Mark Spike Stent. The band, which is vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dom Howard, will launch a spring North American tour on February 27th in Atlanta. Please visit www.muse.mu for more details.

In other Muse news, the band has been nominated for a 2010 Peoples Choice Award, which is voted on by the public, for Favorite Rock Band.
