LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ The GRAMMY Museum) - The GRAMMY Museum will host world-renowned and multi-platinum-selling Mexican band Los Tucanes de Tijuana for an onstage interview and performance, it was announced. The Museum's first program conducted exclusively in Spanish, the evening kicks off the Museum's new "Nuestra Historia" series, which will regularly feature Spanish-speaking recording artists for intimate storytelling and performance sessions. The program also comes just one week after the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards, for which Los Tucanes de Tijuana is nominated in the Best Norteno Album category with Soy Todo Tuyo. "The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome such a widely-beloved and record-setting band for our first-ever Spanish-only program," said Executive Director Robert Santelli. "I'm excited to introduce a whole new audience to The GRAMMY Museum and our particularly special way of allowing fans to experience music." For more than 22 years, Los Tucanes de Tijuana has been one of the top Regional Mexican bands in both Mexico and the U.S., selling over 13 million albums worldwide. With 30 albums and 55 Billboard hits under their belts, the band has performed over 120 concerts each year, collectively entertaining more than five million fans. The band's celebrated music relies exclusively on the songwriting and composing skills of 22 BMI award-winning lead singer, guitarist, and bandleader Mario Quintero Lara, who has penned over 350 songs and corridos. In 2009, his song "Se Fue Mi Amor" was nominated for a Latin GRAMMY in the Best Regional Mexican Song category. The group's album Soy Todo Tuyo is currently nominated in the Best Norteno Album field, to be announced at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, January 31, 2010. Before an intimate audience of 200, hear the band in conversation about their storied career, songwriting process, and newest projects.
