New York (Top40 Charts/ Sony
Music Entertainment UK) - On his debut album 'Sam I Am' (Disappear Records, Feb. 16), 15-year-old violin prodigy Sam Weiser shines with staggering technique, youthful ebullience and mature poise. Combining many musical traditions, Sam will bring his album to the stage with a limited five-date tour reaching NYC, Boston, Fairfield (CT), Rockville (MD) and Nashville.
Boston Globe's Steve Morse notes Weiser's "gifted, often uncannily fast improvisations, seize the day on wide-ranging tunes."
'Sam I Am' shows Weiser fusing gypsy jazz, classical, bluegrass, folk and western swing on compositions from Carlos Santana, Bill Monroe, Eddie Vedder, Mark O'Connor, Sonia Rutstein, and George Shearing.
On stage, Sam will be joined by many of the album's featured artists, including: SONiA, guitar and vocals; Sara Caswell, violin; Phoebe Hunt, violin and vocals; Seth Kibel, clarinet and saxophone; Laura Cerulli, percussion; Saso Sver, guitar and mandolin and Nathaniel Smith, Cello, among others.
