NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Atlantic Records would like to congratulate acclaimed film composer James Horner on his Academy Award nomination in the "Music (Original Score)" category, honoring his extraordinary contribution to Twentieth Century Fox's international blockbuster, "AVATAR." "AVATAR: MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE," the official score album companion to Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron's epic adventure, is available now in stores and at all leading DSPs.

"AVATAR: MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE" was composed and conducted by James Horner and recently received two Golden Globe nominations for "Best Original Song - Motion Picture" and "Best Original Score," as well as a BAFTA nomination. The album also features the aforementioned Golden Globe-nominated end title song, "I See You (Theme From Avatar)" performed by multiple Grammy Award-nominated singer Leona Lewis with lyrics by Simon Franglen, Kuk Harrell and James Horner and Music by James Horner and Simon Franglen, the same team behind "Titanic's" Academy Award-winning score and theme song, "My Heart Will Go On."

"I See You (Theme From Avatar)" is now at AC radio outlets nationwide. What's more, the "I See You" companion video - directed by Jake Nava (Beyonce', Britney Spears, Shakira) - has recently been upped to "Medium" rotation at VH1, where it is also in contention for the network's "VH1 Top 20 Countdown."

James Horner is among the world's most prolific and celebrated film composers. He has earned two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for his music from James Cameron's "Titanic" (one for Best Original Score and one for the Best Original Song "My Heart Will Go On"), eight additional Academy Award nominations, eight additional Golden Globe nominations, and has won six Grammy awards, including Song of the Year in both 1987 (for "Somewhere Out There") and 1998 (for "My Heart Will Go On").

From writer-director James Cameron ("Titanic," "Aliens," "The Terminator," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "True Lies," "The Abyss"), "AVATAR" takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save the alien world he has learned to call home. Cameron first conceived the film 15 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of production, "AVATAR," a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.

"AVATAR" stars Sam Worthington ("Terminator Salvation"), Zoe" Saldana ("Star Trek"), Michelle Rodriguez ("Lost," "Fast & Furious"), and Sigourney Weaver ("Aliens," "Galaxy Quest"). The film is produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau.

In addition to "Music (Original Score)," "AVATAR" received Academy Award nominations in the following categories: "Art Direction," "Cinematography," "Directing," "Film Editing," "Best Picture," "Sound Editing," "Sound Mixing," and "Visual Effects."

The Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, March 7th at 8:00pm (ET)/5:00pm (PT).
