LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Soulfege Official Website) - Take Back the Mic, the latest release from Hip-Hop, Reggae fusion band Soulfege, led by musician & radio host Derrick N. Ashong, debuted this week in the Top 100 of JazzWeek's New World Chart.
The album, which was recorded in the US, Jamaica & Ghana, West Africa features collaborations with Grammy-winning Dancehall Superstar Bounty Killer ("Sweet Mother") and West African Hip-Life legend Reggie Rockstone ("Beans N Rice").

Launched by Harvard educated musicians, Soulfege has received multiple Boston Music Award nominations, as well as nominations for an Independent Music Award and Boston Urban Music Award. Bandleader & primary songwriter Ashong won the 2007 Billboard Songwriting Contest for Best Hip Hop song ("From The Soul").
