New York (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Myron Walden In This World will play a release event at New York's Jazz Standard March 9 as the albums 'To Feel' and 'What We Share,' praised for their "introspective textures" by Down Beat, will be released by Demi Sound Records that day. The band will be:

Myron Walden - Soprano/Tenor Saxophones and Bass Clarinet
Mike Moreno - Acoustic and Electric Guitars
Jon Cowherd - Piano and Fender Rhodes
Yasushi Nakamura - Acoustic Bass
Brian Blade - Drums

The New York Times called the instrumental In This World music, previewed this fall in a series of concerts, "serious and benevolent...restful, sentimental, balanced" while NPR.org applauded the "highly textural and reflective mood of the compositions." To read the Downbeat feature, please click here: https://bit.ly/blIstR

The albums set a reflective mood with lovely melodies and unhurried interchanges among the musicians: Walden on tenor, soprano saxophones and bass clarinet; Jon Cowherd on fender rhodes; Mike Moreno on acoustic and electric guitars; Yasushi Nakamura on acoustic bass; and Kendrick Scott on drums. Some of the tracks feature Walden and Cowherd's Brian Blade Fellowship bandmates Chris Thomas on bass and Brian Blade on drums.

Of 'To Feel,' Walden said, "It is my hope that the music presented here will inspire you to reflect on the beauty that exists in this world. Furthermore, may it surround you in a lush sonic landscape providing you with a safe haven to feel and become one with yourself."

Walden reflected on 'What We Share,' "This music is a representation of the love and happiness that exists in my life. By sharing it with I hope that you too will experience joy and peace as a counterpoint to so much of what exists in this world today. May this be what we share."

Walden's 'Momentum' and 'Momentum Live' were released in November, 2009, while 'Countryfied' will come out this spring. Jazz Times' Aidan Levy wrote, "Each [project] illustrates a different facet of Walden's persona: In This World captures his spiritual side, Momentum the intellectual, and Countryfied the rootsy-a triangulated vision that conjures Charles Mingus' famous pronouncement, 'I am three.'"
