NEW YORK (MTV) - As rumours go, this is a doozy. Madonna, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez are said to be preparing an opening number for Thursday's MTV Video Music Awards.

According to reports the three will perform "Like A Virgin" which Madonna sang to open the VMAs almost 20 years ago. Perhaps planning for this year began when Madge invited Spears and Lopez to her home for a birthday lunch two weeks ago. Either that or the three were comparing their current Golden Raspberry Award nominations for Worst actress of the year.
