Dave Matthews began performing while bartending in Charlottesville, VA in 1990. After receiving overwhelming support from patrons, Matthews laid down a demo and recruited the late LeRoi Moore and Carter Beauford to join. With the addition of a few more members, DMB would release their breakthrough album "Under the Table and Dreaming" with singles "Satellite," "What Would You Say" and "Ants Marching."

The band has garnered several awards to date including the Grammy Award for "Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group" for "So Much to Say." In total, Dave Matthews Band has released seven platinum studio albums, all of which have held top spots on US charts. Their latest release, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King," was dedicated to late saxophonist LeRoi Moore and was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rock album at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
