Tokyo, Japan (Top40 Charts/ EMI Music Japan) - EMI Music Japan is jointly sponsoring online promotions for MIYAVI, the artist who made a name for himself as a world-standard samurai guitarist, to coincide with the worldwide release of his new single on iTunes and the announcement of his North American tour. MIYAVI used the Internet to release information about himself and his music and in so doing he became known throughout the world as the "samurai guitarist." His incredible performances and unique style made him a hot topic among fans, propelling him to intense popularity as a next-generation artist.

The success of his world tour last year, which brought him to 27 performances in 18 countries in roughly three months time (in Europe, South America and Asia) saw him expand the scope of his activity beyond Japan.

His new 2010 single, SURVIVE, will be the first to be made available worldwide on the iTunes Store. Furthermore, plans have been made to go forward with a North American tour, that was delayed last year, on a grand scale, hitting fourteen cities in the US and Canada, completing at last the 'round-the-world' circuit which begun last September, over a ten month period.

In addition, at 11am EDT, on March 23rd, on MIYAVI's MySpace page, and with connections through Ustream and Twitter, MIYAVI's tour rehearsal at his studio in Tokyo will be broadcast live. (https://www.myspace.com/miyavi) This will only be broadcast once, so it is an extremely rare opportunity.

This is the first time this kind of live online broadcast is being attempted in Japan. Since it is MIYAVI who is planning it, his fans in Japan and around the world will be anxiously looking forward to it.

MIYAVI had the following to say about the North American Tour.

"I really have to thank all the people who have worked so hard to put this tour together for me, and I also need to thank the fans in the US who've been so patient in waiting since the cancellations last year. We've heard from so many more fans as well and have been able to schedule shows where we weren't able to go before, on the East Coast and in Canada, so it's really exciting. The Samurai Guitarist from Tokyo show is going to be one to remember.

Last year, I've toured through Europe, South America, and Asia, so I'm really stoked for this upcoming tour. Cuz it'll be my first time to rock out on the East Coast and Canada. I promise to let you guys experience the original SAMURAI guitarist style from Tokyo."

EMI Music Japan will continue to support MIYAVI globally in a variety of ways.
