New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Press House) - Dustin Edge's latest album, By the Numbers, is being released March 30, 2010. It's a flashy, up-tempo, energetic release with captivating melodies and lyrics...many of which reference mathematical qualities. UNIQUE, SMART! Think touches of David Bowie and David Byrne with a dash of Chromeo.

This is music that crosses genres and has a flavor all its own. Here's a quick introduction to Dustin:

His debut album, A Forest Through The Trees, presented rich layers of upbeat instrumentation with energetic compositions that appealed as much to hard-rock lovers as they did to indie-poppers and punks.

Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Dustin Edge was influenced during his childhood by indie-rock heroes such as Slint and Fugazi. After performing in a myriad of punk rock bands during his middle and high school years, he shifted gears during college to form Cast Iron Filter, a bluegrass-rock band that toured the East Coast club circuit for three years before disbanding in 2004.

Disillusioned with life on the road, he moved to the Czech Republic in 2006 to teach for two years. During his tenure abroad, he accepted an offer to play a weekly show in the cafe' of a local hostel. Reawakened to his love of performing, he moved back to the United States in 2008 to recommit himself to his music career.

"Although it's very early in my career, I'm confident that each subsequent release will strive to be separate and different from its predecessors," he says. "I'm constantly trying to explore new approaches to songwriting that are different and improve upon what I've done in the past."
