Gainsbourg - whose recently released new album, "IRM," is unquestionably among the most highly praised of 2010 - is now poised to embark on her first ever North American tour, kicking off April 11th at Vancouver's Vogue Theatre and then continuing through an April 25th date at New York City's Webster Hall. The schedule also includes a set at the aforementioned Coachella Festival on Sunday, April 18th, when Gainsbourg will perform just before Pavement, Thom Yorke, and Gorillaz. Elektra's latest signing, Laza Morgan, makes his solo debut with "This Girl." It's also the first single from the soundtrack companion to summer's upcoming film, "Step Up 3D." The son of reggae legend Denroy Morgan, and former member of LMS, MCA/Universal's popular Jamaican group, Laza now concentrates on his own distinctive 'Sing-J' sound that mixes hip-hop, dancehall, and roots reggae influences. Laza's as-yet-untitled debut album is to be released later this year. Meanwhile, "This Girl" arrives at all DSPs on April 27th.
On May 11th, Elektra will unleash "IT'S BETTER IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND," the debut EP from Bruno Mars. Best known as one-half of the red hot production duo The Smeezingtons (Flo Rida, Cobra Starship), the Hawaiian-born singer/songwriter/producer recently stepped up to the mic with soulful vocal turns on two recent Smeezingtons-penned and produced hits, "Billionaire," from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy and B.o.B's breakthrough pop smash, "Nothin' On You." May 25th will see the Elektra release of "TRUE BLOOD - MUSIC FROM THE HBO ORIGINAL SERIES VOLUME II."
