New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sony Music Latin) - Gerardo Ortiz signs to Sony Music via an alliance with DEL Records, one of Regional Mexican music's most innovative and new-artist focused record labels. In recent months, Gerardo Ortiz has shaken up the Regional Mexican music world with his thundering musical arrangements and his vivid lyrics. And he combines all his country-boy wildness with teen-idol looks and style.

This musical phenomenon was born in Los Angeles and raised in Sinaloa. With his wide range of experiences, Gerardo Ortiz is the right artist at the right time. His live shows are leaving a trail of sold-out venues across the U.S. and Mexico. He recently headlined the Invasion del Corrido III show in L.A.'s Gibson Amphitheater - the attendance was impressive.

Millions have flocked to YouTube to see what this amazing young artist can do. Several artists have already lined up to collaborate with him, including La Banda El Recodo, who invited him to appear in their most recent music video.

Not only does Gerardo Ortiz have a voice, looks and charisma, he also possesses a deep and abiding artistic vision. A thoughtful and instinctive composer, he's already written songs for La Arrolladora Banda El Limv=n, Banda MS and Lupillo Rivera, among others.

"It's been years since we've seen a phenomenon of this magnitude," says Nir Seroussi, Vice President of Marketing and A&R for Sony Music Latin. "It's a fact that Gerardo Ortiz is revolutionizing music and youth style. We're very pleased to be a part of his success story."

DEL Records President Luis del Villar observes that "We're very very excited about this alliance with Sony Music and we're confident that this partnership will take Gerardo to a new level."
For his part, Gerardo Ortiz notes: "It's a great privilege for me to have the full support of two important companies - Sony Music and DEL Records."

The new album by Gerardo Ortiz is titled Ni Hoy Ni Mavana and is slated for release on June 1. It includes Gerardo Ortiz's two current hits, both of which he wrote: "En Preparaciv=n" and "A La Moda."
In the coming weeks, Gerardo Ortiz will embark on a major promotional tour and an international concert tour through Mexico and the U.S.
