NEW YORK (Capitol) - Billy Ray Cyrus, international music star and whose Doc television series is top-rated on PAX TV and heading into a fourth season, has begun filming today in New Mexico for his role in the Joel Zwick-directed Elvis Has Left the Building starring Academy Award winner Kim Basinger (L.A. Confidential, Batman, 9 1/2 Weeks) and John Corbett (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Sex in the City). The Capitol Films production also features in the comedy escapade Denise Richards, Angie Dickenson, Sean Austin and Annie Potts. The film is produced by Tova Laiter (Varsity Blues). Cyrus previously received rave notice for his surprise cameo role in Mulholland Drive, the critically acclaimed film from David Lynch. Upon wrapping his work on Elvis Has Left the Building, Cyrus will head back to Nashville for media and promotion for The Other Side, his first ever gospel album for Word Records, to be released on October 28TH. Then he jets up to Toronto to begin work on the fourth season of Doc. Capitol Films is one of Europe's most formidable international film production, financing and sales companies.
