Tri-c Hosts The First Stop On The Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Jazz Orchestra 2010 Tour

Cleveland, OH (Top40 Charts/ Cuyahoga Community College) - As part of Cuyahoga Community College's (Tri-C) continued commitment to jazz education and the development of future top-level jazz musicians, the College will be the first stop on the Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Jazz Orchestra 2010 U. S. Tour.

"A Celebration of JAZZ" will be held at the Hanna Theatre in Playhouse Square on June 30 at 7:30 p.m. Performing alongside the Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Jazz Orchestra will be the Tri-C JazzFest High School All-Stars and students from the Tri-C Jazz Studies program in a fundraiser to support the work of the Tri-C Jazz Studies program. The special guest artist of the Orchestra is Tri-C Jazz Studies alumnus, Dominick Farinacci. Having recorded six albums, the Juilliard School graduate released the album, "Lovers, Tales, and Dances" in February 2009. The album features some of the greatest players in jazz.

Many of his recordings have placed number one on the Swing Journal Jazz Charts. At 15, Dominick was "discovered" by Wynton Marsalis in Cleveland. Wynton invited Dominick to appear as a featured soloist with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra on a PBS broadcast, "Live from Lincoln Center." While studying with Warren Vache and Wynton Marsalis at the Juilliard School, Dominick was again featured at the Lincoln Center in a tribute concert to Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan.

Joining Dominick at the event will be Scott McKee, on trumpet from the University of Colorado at Boulder; Brad Wagner on saxophone from the University of Cincinnati; Johnny Cochran (on saxophone) and Sunny Tabler (on drums), both from Oberlin College; and Devin Starks on bass who will be attending the New School in New York City this fall.
