PALO ALTO, CA (Top40 Charts/ Mozes, Inc.) - Progressive rock/jam band Umphrey's McGee is giving its fans a chance to relive their concert experience this holiday weekend by enabling the audience to use their mobile phones to buy a recording of the live performance.

The Chicago-based band is co-headlining with GALACTIC featuring Cyril Neville at famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Saturday, July 3. Special Guest, The Wailers, will open the show. The event is being produced by Live Nation.

As more fans arrive at concert venues with mobile phones in hand, live audience interaction is increasingly popular. Umphrey's McGee has been using Mozes on tour to engage fans on their mobiles phones by running contests and letting fans influence the music played by the band in real-time. At Saturday's show, fans will be prompted to send a text message to purchase copies of the live performance in mp3, as well as higher quality FLAC format. Once the purchase is complete, fans can download the recording from the band's website UMLive.net, powered by Nugs.net, which has helped sell over 1 million tracks during the band's ten-year history of live shows.

Musical artists have been recording and selling copies of their performances online for years, but many fans wouldn't know how to go about finding the recordings after they've left the show. Mobile technology makes this a real-time experience.

"We've seen the mobile phone as an incredible tool to take fan engagement to new levels at the band's live shows," said Umphrey McGee's band manager, Vince Iwinski. "The response from fans to these type of experiences has been fantastic."

"Bands that embrace cutting edge mobile and digital platforms are driving the new music business," said Syd Schwartz, a digital marketing expert, founder of strategic digital marketing agency, Linchpin Digital, and Umphrey's McGee consultant. "It's more important than ever to engage fans and create compelling experiences that deepen the artist/audience relationship. Mozes is revolutionizing live event interaction and they couldn't have found a more innovative band to work with than Umphrey's McGee."

The mobile commerce market is set to explode globally. According to a study released in May 2010 by Gartner, Inc., a leading IT research and advisory firm, the number of mobile payment users worldwide will exceed 108.6 million in 2010, a 54.5% increase from 2009. Total transaction value will reach $245 billion by 2014, says the report.

"As mobile commerce starts to take off in the U.S., people want compelling products to buy around the things they care about," said Dorrian Porter, CEO of Mozes. "The mobile phone is transforming live events by improving how people connect with each other, and share and remember their experiences."

Mozes customers include Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI, along with dozens of music management companies, sports teams and major brands such as Ford, Virgin Mobile and Clorox.
