New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Following wildly received appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, guest-filled sets at their own festival Mountain Jam, Gov't Mule will embark on a summer tour July 16th that will include four Florida and Georgia dates in late July with the Dave Matthews Band, a headlining show at the Central Park Summerstage in New York City August 11th, and a show with The Avett Brothers and Truth And Salvage, Co. at the crown jewel of American amphitheaters, Red Rocks (Sept 4). Gov't Mule is led by Warren Haynes, ranked No 23 on Rolling Stones' Best Guitarists Of All Time List and deemed "Best Rock Guitarist" by Guitar Player Magazine for the second year in a row.

The tour, in support of their new critically acclaimed album 'By A Thread,' will head from East to West, kicking off with shows in Raleigh and Charlotte, NC (Haynes's home state) and wind up at the Taos Mountain Music Festival September 5th. Other stops include Boston's Bank of America Pavilion and Penn's Landing in Philly with NOLA funk maestro Trombone Shorty. Jackie Greene will open on the majority of the dates. He has shared the stage with Mule in the past including a memorable Halloween show in Philly where Greene joined Mule for a full set of Rolling Stones songs.

Listen for "Railroad Boy," a traditional song re-imagined by Gov't Mule on 'By A Thread,' on your local radio station, a summer anthem hitting the airwaves as the tour launches.

Here's what critics have said about Gov't Mule and 'By A Thread':

"A good, stomping groove." - Nate Chinen, NY Times

"Soulful swagger." - Doug Wallen, Philadelphia Inquirer

"Both precision and power... its songs stomp and wail with unmistakable energy and heft." - NPR World Cafe'

"Dazzling fretwork by the versatile guitarist [Warren] Haynes, rock-hard rhythms and tunes so catchy they'll be running through your brain for days." - Jeff Johnson, Chicago Sun-Times

Just released: 'Warren Haynes Presents: The Benefit Concert Volume 3 (Evil Teen),' a recording of a 2001 Christmas Jam show, features Blues Traveler, Drivin' N Cryin' and a previously unrecorded version of Phil Lesh & Friends. The 'Mulennium,' a 3 disc set of Gov't Mule's complete New Year's Eve 1999-2000 show, will be released in August.
