New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ OPen Source Festival) - Club and dance music fans, performers, and professionals will meet at the fifth international "Open Source" music festival in Dusseldorf. Club kids, DJs, live acts, bands, and fans, will be dancing all over Dusseldorf on August 7, 2010, when the ever growing Open Source 2010 music festival turns the city into a stage for the latest in international club and dance music. Featuring both a day and a night program, the festival utilizes a horse racing track with various stages and exhibits during the day, several clubs and music venues at night, and provides free shuttle service to connect the city-wide event schedule.
The concept is hugely successful, and 4,000 attended last year, when the festival was moved to a race track to accommodate the growing numbers of both fans and professionals from all over the world. The track, located in a forest in Dusseldorf's Grafenberg district, is considered one of Germany's most beautiful, and proved an ideal setting for the day portion of the festival. Three open air stages (including one for DJ and sound systems and one for "young talents") and a 7,500 square feet tent will be the backdrop for this year's event.
The day program starts at 2 pm and ends at 10 pm, when the night program begins. The festival then continues in clubs and music venues around the city, including clubs Zakk and RotKompot in Dusseldorf's hip district Flingern, and Pretty Vacant in Dusseldorf's historic Old Town, also known as the "longest bar in the world." Free shuttles will keep the party going all night.
Live performers and bands in the day program include: Tomte, Dendemann, Bonaparte, Jahcoozi, Dimlite, Kiesgroup, Harmonious Thelonious, Tolouse Low Trax. The night program includes: Theo Parrish, Von Spar, Hey Willpower, Sascha Dive, Oliver Bondzio, Andy Vaz, Oliver Hacke, Engine-EarZ, and many other names of the international club scene.
