Chicago, IL. (Top40 Charts/ Western Publicity) - The Ponderosa Stomp Foundation began as an annual blowout concert put on by members of the Mystic Knights of the Mau Mau, who made it their mission to triumphantly return to the stage the architects of blues, R&B, soul, rockabilly and garage rock. Over nine years of shows, the Stomp has seen musicians who thought they were forgotten re-launch dormant careers � and rediscover their own importance to legions of fans.
In 2008, the Stomp drafted the many music critics and scholars who had long been attending the concert to create the Ponderosa Stomp Music Conference � a series of live interviews and first-person discussions with the stars of the show, as well as DJs, record men, field recorders and others who shaped musical history. Through its vital collaborations with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Louisiana State Museum, the Stomp Conference presents and records the stories of some of American music's most treasured architects. Footage of conference interviews is archived at both institutions, capturing a significant repository of cultural history in keeping with the Foundation's overall mission. Selected sessions from the 2010 conference will be live-streamed on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website (www.rockhall.com).
Moderators include journalists Ann Powers, Michael Hurtt, Chris Morris, John Morthland and Andy Schwartz as well as historians Rick Coleman, John Broven and Holly George-Warren. Musicians Deke Dickerson and Kid Congo Powers will weigh in, as will Dr. Lauren Onkey and Jason Hanley of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Ponderosa Stomp founder Ira Padnos takes a break from festival details to contribute as well.
An array of iconic musicians will be interviewed at the conference including Duane Eddy, Thee Midniters, Ronnie Spector, Ian Dunlop, The Trashmen, Sugarboy Crawford, Tommy Brown, Leroy Martin, Johnnie Allan, Johnny Gimble, Gloria Jones, Roy Head, Wendy Rene, Lala Brooks, Barbara Lynn, Lil Buck Sinegal and Dave Bartholomew.
The Stomp debuted its first annual film series, featuring classic footage, hot vintage performance and in-depth documentary at the 2009 conference. This year's series is titled CLANDESTINE CELLULOID in honor of the programming � rarely-seen, occasionally controversial films documenting rock n' roll in all its unruly, too-wild-for-the-screen glory; details will be announced shortly.

Those attending the Stomp Music History Conference are asked to make a suggested donation of $20 per day upon arrival. The donation also gets attendees entry to the Clandestine Celluloid film series, the Record Hop record fair and the Ponderosa Stomp curated 'Unsung Heroes' Music Exhibit.
